SouthBridge A&I was honored by the invitation fromInternational eHealth Forum – Morocco to organize and moderate an exceptional panel on financing healthtech in Morocco and Africa.
The panelists were Khalil Azzouzi – Associate Partner, Azur Innovation; Dr. Hicham Elattar – CEO, DataPathology; Omar Laalej – Managing Director, Al Mada Ventures; Youssef Bouyakhf – Co-founder & CEO Deepecho et @Mehdi E. – Head of Startup Ecosystem Department, Digital Development Agency-ADD and discussions focused on the perspective of the investors present (Al Mada Ventures and Azur Innovation), investment opportunities in this sector in Morocco, feedback from startups (DataPathology and Deepecho) on their fundraising process, and on the role of public authorities (Digital Development Agency-ADD) in the development of Healthtech in Morocco.
Discussions highlighted the availability of funding, while underlining the growing interest in this sector. They also highlighted the strategic importance of public procurement and partnerships in addressing public health issues. Sound advice was shared by the founders taking part in the panel, as well as by various entrepreneurs in the room.
